Good Morning!  Welcome to another edition of the Saturday Morning Post.

A very cool thing happened right here on Enriched by Words.  I posted a list of gift ideas for writers on the 3rd.  Aaron from Ecopaper responded in the comments with a 15% off coupon code for Ecopaper products.  I love it!  And I love their stuff!  Grab the code and go shopping.  Can’t wait until I have Ecopaper in my own online store.

Pick the Brain had a great article titled Taming the Web 2.0 Mind.  He talks about the importance of being able to concentrate (when we are supposed to) while living in a multitasking world.  Incidentally, psychological research indicates that multitasking is actually bad for your performance and takes more time. Two articles from Scientific American (sciam.com) are here and here.

Time to Write posted the question of the day for writers…an important thought for all of us.

Mercola.com posted an easy way to wade through the topic of personal productivity, and provides links to the best of them.  Also from the same site, Little Things to Help You Succeed in Life.

Here is Melissa Donovan’s How to Write a Novel Part II, as promised from Writing Forward.  If you don’t know Melissa, click the Melissa Donovan, My Multimedia Life link on the right side of her page.  She’s pretty cool (and hubby says pretty hot, too).

Freelance Writing Jobs found a cool gift idea for bloggers, which can be purchased here.  You can also find gift ideas for writers here.

Grow Your Writing Business posted 5 Ways to Cheese off Your Fellow Planet Dwellers (with cell phones).

Emily Hanlon (from Creativity Portal) posted an interesting twist to the question of outlining your book before you start writing it.  I’ve done it both ways, but my favorite method is a free-write that I put into linear form.  What do you think?

I was hit hard by the topic of a post on How Not to Write titled the Long Shadows of November.  I had just encouraged another writer through the same thing in early October, but was unprepared for the depth of my plunge the day I finished my rough draft.  Ugh.  I also liked his piece A Writer’s Love.  I totally understand it because I write about it, too.

Daily Writing Tips has been posting on language and word usage for a couple of weeks.  I liked this one:  Are “Gone,” “Taken,” and “Written” on the Way Out? I can’t believe some of that stuff makes it to the printed page.

Joanna Young posted on the question of using long words over short ones.  She is also hosting Simply The Best:  Group Writing Project (for bloggers).

Michelle at Word Count posted tips on how to write during the busy holiday season.

I found a very nice (and very short) essay/poem type thing about writing.  Very cool.

Have a great weekend!

OMG! I’m blushing now! Thanks for the link love and the kind compliment. Seriously, my face is red hot from blushing and I’m feeling pretty squirmy, ahem.

It’s all in good fun, Melissa. :) I started revisions on my Nano novel today, btw. Finding all kinds of new ways to be busy doing something else! Never knew I was that creative, lol.

Don’t worry about the blush. I might be the only woman in my age group who still blushes at the drop of a hat. It makes people smile.

    Hi BJ:

Thanks so much for linking to my post about writing during the holidays. I think the key for me this year is focus: concentrate on work when I’m working and concentrate on all of the holiday stuff when I’m not.

    Best,
