MidWeek Weekender Stuff

I’m still working from the bottom up and doing these posts because I think the information is worth sharing.

Voicing Concerns by Dan Holloway, on Voice.

Taking a Chance on a Young Agent

Dancing With the Stars Analogy (Agent Kristin) gives a good metaphor for importance of understanding your craft.  As a writer, craft is always the first concern.

The Black Sheep of Fiction Writing by Carolyn Jewel discusses backstory.

How Does Technology Affect Writing Style? The bulk of the article is in the comments.  Here’s the link to Lynn’s post as well.  I can see the effects of technology.  When something better than a computer comes along, I’ll be one of those dinosaurs crying for one of those old fashioned gizmos, but I am first and foremost a paper and pen writer…beyond dinosaur, eh?

Dan Case’s Try Quitting resonated long after I’d left the computer.  Thanks Rachelle.

Oh, how I can empathize with Not Writing=Vivid Dreaming=Need to Write.

Does Age Make You Any Less Creative? As an aging…ahem…person, I was glad to see this article and yes I do.

How awesome!  54 Tips From Writers For Writers.

The Cycle of Creativity and How to Ride It has some good and interesting information for people just getting curious about their own cycles.  Once you’ve gotten more intimate with your own, it’s still good to review once in a while (you know, just so you don’t think you’ve lost your mind…)

55 Ways to Get More Energy is great.  Check out #2.  May I recommend Supermassive Black Hole (Muse), Love You Madly (Cake) or Girl Inside My Head (Blues Traveler) or…well I could go on for a long time.  A thumping, driving beat and a good song….I’m so there!

When Paper Works Better Than a Word Processor is just another reason I love Sumar.

Two words:  Wordflab Surgery!

It’s All In the Details from the Blood-Red Pencil was nice reinforcement for me having just finished several exercises from Donald Maass (more to come on those).

Nice list, going to go through all of these tonight. The “Dancing with the Stars” analogy article was a good laugh.
